PAINFUL GROWTH

When we grow chronologically, there is no guarantee that we are also increasing mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. It takes intention, choice, and work to increase our level of understanding. The experiences we go through as night turns to day and day to night, provide the substance for the work. As we navigate the substance of life’s experiences, we fall, rise up, learn, strive harder, work harder and the cycle continues year after year until we die.

Learning is not always a given, we must choose to learn or see the lessons in our experiences. When we miss the lesson, life has a funny way of bringing us back to that learning curve until we get it and make better choices. If we are lucky, it rotates back to the same person so we do better, or it presents with someone different and we do better there; it does not matter who, it matters more what we learn from it.

We will always be challenged, we will always fall as long as we live, but our choice to rise when we fall is totally up to us. How we rise after a fall depends on what we lean on or use as a crutch. We can rise up kicking and screaming with rage, denying the truth, insisting on our righteousness, and many other defense mechanisms, or we can rise up in truth, acceptance, and change, knowing we have more lessons ahead to prepare for.

When we find that it is hard to let go then we need to pause, stop thinking about them, the circumstances, the job, the anger, the child, the bereavement, the divorce, – just STOP thinking externally. START looking inside. All those things that happened are done. Now it’s all about our intentional work towards spiritual growth and healing. It takes practice, it’s scary, and hard to face who we are, what we see about ourselves. Just remember, when we do it right, the result is an amazing self-love, self-respect and love for others. When you have learned to do your work, you won’t let anyone take that away from you, you protect your growth and help others respect it, all with love.

Ask yourself today, when it comes down to choosing, what are your choices? Do you choose what is just, or what is easy to swallow, do you choose to uphold truth in yourself and others, or slide it conveniently under a rug. What do you fear?

There’s peace in standing for something knowing you have done your best.

LASER FOCUS TOWARDS DESTINY

I love new beginnings, they are amazing to the mind and heart. The wonderful thing about new beginnings is you can create your own whenever you like, you don’t have to wait for someone else to start it or give you permission. You don’t have to wait to conform to man-made new starts like new year. You decide when you need to start over, whether it is Monday, Thursday, March or August. So, I challenge you today, are you yet on that path to realizing your utmost purpose on this earth, have you found the key to why you are here, how confident are you, that you are where you need to be, doing what you were called to do and there is nothing more you want?

My Challenge: Today, look in the mirror and ask the image starring back, if the decisions you are currently making, honor the path in that journey to revealing the greatness within you. If something doesn’t seem right, do something about it. Remove the obstacles, be laser focused on creating the best life for yourself. It won’t take a day, but it won’t happen either if you don’t live with intention.

You are the light of the world, so shine bright!

THE DECISION

Today I am addressing the small steps one can

sometimes fail to make, while looking at the very

big picture. First, DESIRE. Well, that is not such

a hard thing in today’s world. One look at a photo,

a location, we hear an idea, and it is easy to desire

it, the mental image is instantly gratifying. Now,

how do we get from desiring to acquiring? Not

to make it too simplistic, but, a simple thing such

as deciding to get it, makes a difference.

YOU’VE GOT THE GREEN LIGHT

It is not by accident that you stumbled on my page

though it may seem like you clicked the link out of curiosity.

I am joining the flame of hope and courage to add to your light

and say, we have the green light, the go-ahead, to take life

by the horns this week. If your health permits, and your

circumstances allow it, be a connection for yourself,

and then for others. As you receive, pass it on, and more

will come back to you

SUNDAY REFLECTION

SUNDAY REFLECTION

As we wake up in different parts of the US
it’s not our first thought that other parts of the
world have been hours ahead of us. In that
moment, we have our universe, our immediate
life, whether alone, with family, friends or at work.
For some people, another night on the cold streets

My message today for those still rising, wake up
with a spirit of thankfulness & thoughts of someone
else’s plight in your heart. We all have our worries,
our headaches, pain, & anguish, yet, we can still be
there for someone else, in spite of our own troubles

Make an effort today, to think of someone other than
yourself & how you can be a blessing. You can call,
visit, support emotionally or financially, or pray. In fact,
taking a moment to even think beyond your situation,
might be an accomplishment for someone today.

DEAR DIARY, IT’S MONDAY AGAIN, DECEMBER 1ST

OH BOY COULD MONDAY BE ANY LESS PAINFUL

I woke up this morning, after a long 4 days off, thinking I should have had one more day off. I obviously had only slept 3 hours the whole night, so I was sleep deprived, and cranky, very cranky. My alarm blasted off at 0430 am, and I thought, who on earth set that alarm! Me of course. I work almost an hour’s drive from home, and ideally I should be at work by 0530am. An unholy hour to be awake at all if you ask me, but not to early to be saving lives. Of course I hardly make it by 5:30, but when I can, it is dark, and I can’t help thinking, most mortals are still asleep. I usually smile as I drive to work though, and during my drive, I meditate and I feel like I have God all to myself. Funny, cause I am usually cranky when that alarm goes off. The busy bee

This morning was even harder. Trying to work a regular job by day, and then apply myself to my passions and my own businesses after hours is a magic trick I marvel at, one which means no sleep as I know it. Puffy eyes here I come, sleep-walker now my name. This is something I am sure a lot of people know as well, people, who believe in a dream, who hold on to the hope that someday, their sweat will be all they need to maintain the standard of living they have become used to over the years, and even more

As I slapped my snooze button over and over, I started my mantra,

“At least I have a job, at least I have a good job, wake up wake up wake up”.

I drove to work, and the only thing that kept me perked up was the vision of the many things I will be accomplishing in the near future; that world where I am a published writer, an actress, a playwright, an employer, a Philanthropist, the world where my book is a movie, Oscar winners, hahaha, yep, all the good things.

Then I arrive at work. Still dark. Time to help save lives. Coffee time, stock up, it’s 6am. New mantra on my lips, “I love my job, I love my job I love my job”

And then when you least expect it, you really love your job, for out of the blue, you get a card from the Assistant Manager with your name on it, it’s not your birthday, you don’t remember anything special happening, you’re not exactly special, but for that moment, or one day, you were special enough to be remembered. I do love my job, and until dreams keep coming true, this made my Monday, December 1st, worthwhile

DEAR DIARY

My small library grows daily, and daily I hope and pray one day it will occupy the books I have written. In the mean time, I savor authors and amazing works of art, literature, penned by some of the most gifted minds. Everyone has a teacher in them, so as I learn and teach and learn, I research and spread my mental horizons. Ten Day MBA I am not there yet, still lost in the clouds of the motivational. How often do you think about why you exist? Too complicated a thought or too simplistic a view? Truth is, whether we think about it consciously or unconsciously, we are in one way or another striving to make sense of our existence. It is hard to experience total peace until we feel a sense of oneness and purpose, familiarity with our core. For everyone, that peace and sense of center is different, no two are the same.

Find your core, the inner essence from which our greatest strength comes, and then use it to fuel this great journey called life.
