DEAR DIARY

My small library grows daily, and daily I hope and pray one day it will occupy the books I have written. In the mean time, I savor authors and amazing works of art, literature, penned by some of the most gifted minds. Everyone has a teacher in them, so as I learn and teach and learn, I research and spread my mental horizons. Ten Day MBA I am not there yet, still lost in the clouds of the motivational. PEARL #81: PLAN YOUR LIFE

DEAR DIARY, IT’S NOVEMBER 1ST 2014

“FAILING TO PREPARE IS PREPARING TO FAIL…

I used to hear this from Dr Dawkins Derrol, senior Pastor and Pediatrician, Birmingham AL. At the time I was just a student in nursing school, working as a Medical Assistant in his Pediatric practice. I wondered, what did that mean? It wasn’t a stretch of the imagination really, it was simple. Dr Dawkins simply meant, you ought to plan what you want to do, and plan how you will execute it.

For me today, I see that so relevant in everything I do. I have seen how things turn out when I plan, and the outcome when I don’t plan. Now, not everything in life can be written down to the last detail, some things are best spontaneous. However, when it comes to important stuff, like the trajectory of your life, a plan better be in place.

The first day of November, 2014, makes me realize, I have exactly 2 months till the end of this year. So, I am taking stock of what my life has been so far, is there something I can wrap up? Next, start planning for next year. When the new year starts, I should already have an idea what I want my life to look like. Deciding to plan in January, is preparing to be a day late. I want January to start with me already running.

Today I spent time in Barnes & Noble bookstore, looking around for inspiration. The first book I saw walking in is one I have been wanting to read, The Alchemist, wow. Then I looked for the book one of my Coaches and Mentors said I should get, The Ten Day MBA, my eyes fell on Joel Osteen’s book, but I couldn’t possibly get all these in one day. The adrenaline though started to fill my blood, I wanted to remain in the bookstore.

I got a couple of journals, my The Alchemist, pens and paper. Tonight, I will plan the rest of my year and the beginning of a new one.

What about you? What are you planning for next week, next month, next year? Need paper, pen? Then get it, start thinking, all the best to you and me, may our dreams come true.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

ARE YOU A MISTAKE?

The intricacies of the workings of the human body are a marvel to behold.

In my little space in my thoughts, I see in my mind’s eye all the beauty

and complexity of the world my eyes captured all day. It dawns on me, these

are not mistakes, these are carefully created organisms, perfect human beings

in their imperfection. It is clear to me, that God does not make mistakes. So while

we wallow in doubt, self-pity, fear and terror, shouldn’t we wonder, if the Creator

makes everything on purpose, and no one is a mistake, why will He start with me?

This human being who was made out of intention will intentionally desire and create

the world meant for them. Today

How often do you think about why you exist? Too complicated a thought or too simplistic a view? Truth is, whether we think about it consciously or unconsciously, we are in one way or another striving to make sense of our existence. It is hard to experience total peace until we feel a sense of oneness and purpose, familiarity with our core. For everyone, that peace and sense of center is different, no two are the same.

Find your core, the inner essence from which our greatest strength comes, and then use it to fuel this great journey called life.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

TOPIC: ARE HUMAN BEINGS POLYGAMOUS AT HEART  BUT PRACTICE MONOGAMY? OR INTRINSICALLY MONOGAMOUS BUT PRACTICE POLYGAMY

I was recently challenged with this topic from one of my readers, and I urge you all to continue to send me topics for us to discuss and think about. Like my last food for thought which dealt with the human nature and question “Are human beings inherrently good with the potential to turn evil, or are we evil with elements of good”. That was a very successful Food for Thought

Today’s topic deals with human sexuality, emotions, relationships, commitment. I was asked if I believe human beings are fundamentally polygamous but yet practice monogamy? I don’t know, im curious about what you all think, will include your responses in my next post.

Personally, I see that dating back in history and even Bible times, and even other religions, through centruries, polygamy has seemed more prominent or not such a shock factor as it seems today. Why is that? Was it for economic reasons that men, kings will have harems, multiple wives, farmers with compounds and different wives in each one. Today, we see a lot of men in modern relationships still showing the need to want to experience more than one partner at the same time. I am not leaving the women out either, women have been known to have multiple partners, maybe not as open. However in some African cultures, polyandry is common. So, does Cupid’s bow strike that many times easily?

I wonder, how come we have a visceral negative almost paralyzing reaction to know that the object of our affections might want more than just us, but yet, at the same time, it seems history shows through generations that human beings are more prone to multiple partners at the same time than not? Paradox, life, or what? Does
