MY SOUL’S KEEPER

It’s almost midnight and the lights are turned out,

but for the burning flame upstairs, soon to be out.

As she makes her way up, she starts to wonder,

where will her soul sleep tonight, again she starts to ponder.

So many things on her mind, so many emotions to feel,

will tonight be the same, aimless fall into sleepless deep.

Maybe tonight, she will recognize,

her soul’s keeper, it’s time to arise.

Tonight as she drifts into sleep, anew she starts to wonder,

what if no need to ponder, I am my soul’s keeper

So now be still my soul,

Sweet dreams be near my soul.
