THE SOUND OF A BREAKTHROUGH

Hahahahahahahaha I heard them laugh

Hohohohohohohoh I heard him bellow

Hihihihihihihihihihi I heard her scream!

Hehehehehehehehe they’re all rejoicing.

 

What pray tell is all the commotion about

I had to know what this music was

I needed to know why I was so affected

I knew not of what, but I knew it was for me

 

I walked up to them heart racing

My soul was dancing ’cause of what I heard

Slowly a laugh from my stomach bubbled forth

By the time I reached them I was laughing too!

 

I cared not what the cacophony was all about

All I knew is this was contagious,

Oh I joined and started screaming out my joy,

And then I got it ’twas the sound of  breakthrough!

 

I let it roll from my heart then I rolled with it

I danced and shouted all my pain, all my hopes with it

I cried with joy, oh have mercy I never want to stop

I knew then that my breakthrough lay within my joy
